It was a long short week. Several of the kids said how glad they were it was finally Friday or that tomorrow is Saturday. I think sometimes it is almost more difficult to adjust when we have a short week!
We played our first math game: "Penny Dice"-ask your child to tell you about it. Here are some pictures of the children playing.
We had a bus safety evacuation practice this morning.
We talked about the great love that Jesus has for us in religion. We also talked about Jesus dying for us and the difference between a crucifix and a cross.
We read the book Don't Squeal Unless It's a Big Deal (a favorite from Kindergarten) and talked about the difference between kid sized problems and those needing adult help.
It was time to get back to "Teach Your Monster to Read" in the computer lab. The children were excited to be able to continue where they left off in kindergarten. Your child is more than welcome to play at home. The link is on the SWS student page (go to 1st grade).
